Pythagoras (570 - 495 BC) was a greek philisopher, mathematician, astronomer and scientist. Credited for originating the "music of the spheres" theory which states there are musical intervals (mathematical ratios) found in the distances and sizes of the planets and how they moved around one another. Our own sun and moon turns out to have close relationship to 432, so using 432 Hz for A4 in the Pythagorean tuning scale makes sense.

There are 86 400 seconds in a day. Add one zero and you get the diameter of the sun in miles at 864 000. Divided by 2 it's 432 000. As we divide our day in two (A.M and P.M), dividing the number of seconds per day in two also, gives 43 200.
Our sun is central for how we tell time of course. The measurement of sound frequency (Hertz) is based on cycles per second. 432 Hz is 432 cycles per second. It really lines up. "Music of the spheres" has a different ring to it with these things in mind.

The modern day method of tuning (equal temperament) starts at C1 being 32.7 Hz and results in A4 being 440 hz by the principle of doubling the Hz value to get each octave (C1 @ 32.7 x 2 = C2 @ 65.4 Hz etc). Using the Pythagorean tuning scale, you need to put C1 at a much more precise 32.11 hz for A4 to become 432 hz.

Since the way of tuning using fifths was used since ancient times, Pythagorean tuning could be referred to as the original tuning. The standard of 440 Hz tuning was first introduced in 1834, about 2300 years after Pythagoras died. Some say that the type of tuning called Pythagorean has been around thousands of years before even Pythagoras.

According to Ananda Bosman who is a international researcher and musician, archaic Egyptian instruments that have been unearthed are largely tuned to A=432Hz.

The original height of the great pyramid is in a 1: 43.200 scale of the radius of the earth.

• Tibetan monks

Jamie Buturff (sound & Rodin coil researcher), found that Tibetan monks used 432 Hz tuning in their hand-made tuning bowls for chakra tuning. Jamie measured the Tibetan singing bowls using a Korg tuner and discovered that the bowls were harmonic to the 432 harmonic scale.

Several decades ago when Nike wanted to come up with the optimal golf ball they input all the various parameters of golf ball design into a computer. The result was that 432 dimples gave the least air resistance and most distance. They understand this gives the optimal harmonic performance. The ball used by Tiger Woods today.

• Time cycles etc

Hinduism: It is said that the Kali Yuga lasts 432.000 years and that it is part of the Great Cycle which lasts 4.320.000 years.

Our 24 hour period has 86.400 seconds. That is 43.200 seconds for each half of the day. The sun also happens to have a diameter of 864.000 miles, which is 432.000 divided by two, and taking 4320 divided by two, we get the moon diameter of 2160 miles.
